My name is bob and I live in Southern Maine. I have been interested for quite some time in goat milk soap making and at presently putting things together to try my first batch.

I'm still a little hesitant because I donb't want to screw this up so I'll probably have some questions about making goats milk soap and the equipment to use.

My wife and I keep 15 dairy goats and figure its about time to use some of their delicious milk, after the babies don't need it anymore.

Welcome Bob,

I was born and raised in Portland and now live in Taxachusetts, but go home frequently to visit family. Where abouts are you?

As far as your first batch goes, you may want to go easy on yourself and make your first batch without the goats milk just to give yourself an opportunity to see what soap making is like before adding any extra challenges.

Good luck and be sure to include some photos!

I live in Wells, Maine. I used to live in Portland when I got married and then moved back to Wells.

I'm thinking of trying a lard based soap which looks really easy to do as soon as I get everything together.

When I was younger I lived in Norwood, Mass. My parents moved to Maine and I followed. Best thing I ever did getting out of Mass.

Welcome Bob!

IrishLass :)

Edited to add- I'm a former Massachussettsian myself. I grew up in New Bedford, N. Dartmouth, and Swansea (we moved a lot- my mother had gypsy feet). I live way on the other side of the country now.

Lots of double letters in Massachussettsian

tied with bookkeeper.
