New to soaping!

Hi everyone!! I've been making soap now since Dec. I'm loving it! I am curious though...how many of you make soap with CP and how many do HP? It's great to meet you all!!

It's nice to meet you! I too have been doing both and I can't decided which is better.

I prefer CP for getting creative with but HP for adding "special" superfat oils and the fact it's ready almost immediately. There's room for both

Thanks for making me feel welcome Chay! I too have been doing that with my HP. It seems that I don't use as many bowls and tools with HP as I do with CP. But really there is no help for me. I'm messy either way! *lol*

Welcome Soapmom! You'll find this forum to be invaluable in your trials and errors of soaping I haven't posted to awful much but come by almost every day to read what others are experiencing and get valuable insight. As for your question, I started out in August CP soaping but being the impatient soul that I am, switched to Crockpot HP and love it! You can't get near the pretty swirling and artistic designs of CP but it's instant gratification and I love the rougher look of HP

Nice to meet you Soapmomma! I have been doing both and I too am impatient so I tried HP. I too like the rough look but mine are a little too rough one the sides at the moment. I think the soap is drying too much before I can get it in the mold and then I'm not packing it in enough so it does have small air bubbles in it. But I'm still learning! And loving it all!

Hello from Australia and welcome SoapMom!

I make CP so far (and am loving it...) as well as MP (where I started...) and body butters. HP sounds really interesting and I will have to try that too I am sure

I am a 'messy' too - I can make a mess just by walking into my kitchen.....don't ask :wink:

Me too!!! Mine are all teens now and I really cannot blame them for most of the messes.....I have been a 'messy' as long as I can remember, and it's not for lack of keeping clean.....I just seem to attract mess to me
