Hi All,
I am new to Soapmaking. Starting out buying all the stuff for CP, but in the interim, I bought Olive Oil, Goat Milk and Shea Butter Soap. I thought it was oil that had to be melted down for CP.
I found out that it is for Melt and Pour. The soap comes in one ounce chunks.
My question is can I just put equal amounts together, throw in some scent and just put it in molds.
I don't know if I can mix them because I thought that different oils do different things, like lather, harden, and moisturize.
How do I do this? Any help will be appreciated

For Melt N' Pour Base, adding more than 1 TBS of oil or butter per lb. of base lessens the lather. More then that and you could end up with an oily mess.

Your post is a little confusing to me - but I'm easily confused.

You can mix different types of MP soap to your heart's content. Add fragrance, and color if desired and pour into the mold. Ta da! You can get more complicated and fancier if you wish.

If you are adding an oil or butter, though, you should limit the addition to a maximum of about 1/2 ounce (~ 1 Tablespoon ~ 15 grams) per pound of soap base.

I'm confusing myself.
It's olive oil soap, goat milk soap and shea butter soap.
I was just wondering if one is for hardening, lather or are they all moisturizing?
Or do I just use one soap at a time instead of mixing them up.

You can mix up any similar MP bases to your heart's content. I said similar because some are more like true soap and others are more like syndet bars.

I made the soap this morning and now I can't get the soap out of the mold.
I also think I used too much scent.
What do you use to measure out the scent? I don't have anything small enough
So what do I do with the soap now. I don't think anyone will use it. Doesn't smell too good. :?
What a waste.

If you don't have a scale, I would get some disposable pipettes. Try your local pharmacy. Try putting the soap in the freezer to help it get out.
