Hi,

I started this because a girlfriend has a very complex set of food and skin allergies/sensitivities. Somewhere along the line she decided we're starting a soap business (we'll see if that ever happens.)

Myself? PhD chemist so the processes are ones I've learned in the past. The application is a bit different, plus having issues finding equipment without robbing my work place.

Rich.

Welcome!

And no need to rob the workplace for tools. Most of what you need for equipment can be found on ebay or in thrift stores. HDPE (5 or above) or stainless steel containers for mixing lye and soap, stick blender to speed emulsion along, molds can be as simple as an old Pringles container, or a clean milk carton or a length of PVC pipe.

Digital scale I'd buy new but that's pretty cheap.

Basic oils - Soapers' Choice is my "go to" supplier but the grocery store will have most of what you need.

Lye - locally try Ace Hardware, on line try Essential Depot.
