New to selling soap: Full of Questions!

I started making soap a year ago. Since then I've dialed in my formula, fragrances, color and additive schemes. I love making soap, which means I have too much darn soap. So I give it away, let my kids sell it at craft fairs, etc....

During the lock down I have time to figure out how to produce, package, market, and sell my soap. Having done many different things in life, I've found that forums like these always have the same questions from people like me, like a revolving door. Please feel free to direct me to resources or threads that have gone through all of this for people just starting out.

I have questions specifically about cutting, packaging, labeling, shipping, and setting up an ETSY site. I'm sure there is also a ton to learn about every other aspect of this creative hobby. That's part of the fun.

Since you JUST joined I suggest that you read all there is here First.
There are about a zillion posts on all the topics you have listed.

This topic should also be in the business section which you are not allowed to post in yet.

I believe there is actually a pinned post somewhere regarding being ready (or not) to begin selling. You'll find TONS of info on all those topics on here. You just gotta dig a little.

Personally, I don't agree with the rules of not letting new members post in the business forum. I totally get people got tired of "I've been making soap for 10 minutes and i want to sell!" But there are people who have been making soap for a while who just recently joined the forum. And there are also people who have sold another type of craft who have good info to share but can't.

This was a first post for the original poster. I don't mind answering question from a newbie about other aspects of soap. I do think the rules should apply to someone who is just coming to the forum with questions on selling. Etsy has a help link for those who are setting up a selling account.
