New stick blender recs?

I dropped my 8 year old Target cheapo. That shaft that I could never get to come off? It's off. Need a new one!

This is the closest thing to what I have now. Mine is also old. I can't say much about a newer model, but I like the one I do have.

I love my 'vintage' Braun, which hasn't been made for eons. One of the things I love about it is that the bell rarely traps any air - it is shaped much like the one artemis linked above. I have an older Cuisinart that I do like, and especially like having the low/high speed option. I can tell you that I hated a Kitchen Aid I bought because I had coupons and it was on sale, and it was a cute color (I think I paid $11.00) for it. It was awful for soap, but is fine in the kitchen. Not much help, I'm afraid.
