Hi there! I fell in love a couple years ago with soap I bought while in Disney. Have you ever seen the soaps at Basin? Well, my mom and I want to make soaps like that. But have no clue how its done. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks!

Sorry should have been more specific. How do u imbed shapes and stuff in a loaf mold? I really am not up on the lingo so please bare with me. : )

And thanks for liking my username. I owned convertible beetle once and that is what i had on my license plate. Kinda stuck around after that. :)

Have you looked through the MP section of this forum. I'm sure there are a lot of discussions about embedding.

Here's a couple of links that might help.

Welcome to the forum! I was in the White Basin store in Orlando, FL this past July. If I recall correctly their soaps are very hard which would indicate that they use palm kernel as one of there base oils. I also noticed that they used mostly fragrance oils (FO)as opposed to essential oils (FO) for their scents.

Melt and pour is a good starting point as someone suggested. Once you have mastered that you can graduate to combining your own base oils, FO's and EO's to create your own sudsy concoction.

It sounds like you are more interested in MP (Melt & Pour) if you want to do embeds, etc. If you want to try cold process soap, this website is very very helpful for beginners: www.millersoap.com
