I'm back to soaping after several years. I like CP but have been studying the hot process, cures right away but not the same looking. Began soaping for family and friends with allergies. Now I see soap prices going up for the same stuff and want my circle to have quality stuff. A few weeks ago I made the DIY laundry soap and have given lots of it away but I decided to make my own plain soap to use in it and that led me to today. I am getting some equipment together. Notably a digi scale. I have been resistant but I want to mix oils and no other way. My daughter has a few restaurants so she can sell some of it at least to pay for more ingredients. I'm hoping that some of the butters can bring their own fragrance because I'm so allergic to the synthetic FOs. I don't have the respiratory reaction to the essential oils so far. Well enough! I'm gonna jump in and read and oogle pics. So nice to be here!

Welcome :)
How near Eau Claire are you? I'm just out past Fanny Hill.

I'm a CPer, too. Not a fan of HP because I can not get the texture smooth enough to where I'd like. I'm also of the belief that even HP does better with a few weeks of "curing" time.

Thankyou for the welcome. I live in Fairchild. I say near Eau Claire because more people have an idea where I am. You aren't that far from me. Nice to know someone nearby.

Welcome Lilahblossom! :)

Unfortunately, I've found that any of the natural scent from butters, such as natural cocoa butter for instance, fades very quickly in soap within the first few days or weeks into cure. At least that has been my own experience with my cocoa butter soaps.
