Hey all. I want to find out the most affordable high quality place to purchase oil. ALSO...... for Body wash and Hand Lotion how much should I put in? THANKS....

I just want to know how much FO I should put in shower gel that will make a good strong scent that lasts?

Hi , I am new to this too but I read reviews for about a week before I placed my first FO order and a lot of people seemed to like WSP so thats where I ordered from most of their oils are @$6 for 2 oz but the shipping is free and I was really amazed at how much less it took than the fo that I bought locally. I have not tried anywhere else yet , sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

WSP shows the maximum use levels for their fos on their web site. I think it's something you'd have to experiment with since the strength of different fragrance oils vary.

For example, a scent may have a max level of 10% in lotion but you may find that 2% gives a strong scent. I use their vanilla bean noel fo and for lotions the mul is 2.8% and 14.3% for soap. I use between 1% to 2% in both lotions and soaps.

However, I may find that in a few weeks the soap's scent may have faded. If so, I'll add an extra .5% the next time I make a batch.

I'm lost. Nothing unique about that!

So you want to purchase FRAGRANCE oils? Or base oils?

For fragrance oils you typically use up to 1% in a lotion. If you are using a pre-made base you should check with the supplier to see how much it can hold. Then you need to see what works with your particular base and the fragrance oil you choose. Start at 0.5%, I think, and check back after 24 hours to see if you need more.

The values on WSP are the maximum ALLOWED under the IFRA guidelines (regarding skin safety) and not recommended amounts for a stable or pleasant product.

For skin products I really like Scent Works, among others. WSP - well their costs and their games with pricing have cost them my business.

base oils, soaperschoice, oils by nature
fragrance oils- peakcandle.com, bertsheavenscent, natures garden, theres a bunch of places, if you look at past topics you will see many peoples comments about where to go.
Im not happy with wsp "shipping included", so I havent been buying from them.
If you get a sampler package at peak( they have 10- 1ouncers for 20$), you can order doubles or triples of any scent, some places only allow you to but one of each. Also, they send you a free bottle with your purchase.
