Hi I made some liquid soap with Listerine for The first time and to my surprise it came out really good it has olive oil and coconut oil and glycerin I was wondering if I have to neutralize this soap and if I do how do I do it

Is it lye heavy? Did you zap test it? What SF did you use to make it? More information needed. Curious as to why you made it with Listerine? Interesting.

Liquid soap, due to the high pH, does not need a preservative. Some people do use one for peace of mind. I think liquid germall plus could be used for liquid soap even though technically it goes outside of the recommended pH level for that preservative.

If you do a zap test and it does not zap, you do not need to neutralize. If it does zap after the cook, you will have to neutralize.

I'm puzzled like Shari -- You haven't said anything about your recipe, so how would we know if it needs to be neutralized? Are you're following someone else's recipe? If so, what is the author of the recipe telling you to do? Do they say to neutralize?
