Hi everyone - this has been tickling my memory for a few weeks and I decided I needed to go back to check it. I find I'm still confused so I need some input on this one please.

Could you help me understand the following?

"Cannabis sativa seed oil (Hemp seed oil) (8016-24-8, 68956-68-3)
Permitted at concentrations less than 10 :g/g THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), as per the Industrial Hemp Regulations"

What is this concentration level and how does it affect soap making?

TIA
Lindy

I'm going to guess it means that the THC concentration in the oil itself has to be lower than those particular #'s you posted.

This would be of concern to the makers of the hemp seed oil, not to the end product user ( you )

that's right, the tetrahydrocanabinol (THC) is the active ingrediënt in cannabis that triggers your brain & makes you stoned; makes sense to me there's some regulation concering hemp oil in the USA & Canada
Cause who knows what will happen when all soapmakers start to drink their oils

Pretty much what I was going to say, Lindy. The Hemp Oil has already been made according to the regulations. It shouldn't have anything to do with how much you can use in your soap or other products. But, hey, just in case you take to drinking Hemp Oil, you'll be legal

Thanks everyone - it has been worrying me so I haven't even tried that oil yet - (not in my coffee or my soap  )

They regulated how much THC goes in the organic Hemp Seed Oil so that people won't be getting a buzz from hemp oil salad dressing...
