I want to start working with more natural colors so I made a test batch today. Really happy how everything turned out except the bentonite clay, it really didn't show up.
My batter was a tad yellow from the coco butter and powdered egg, maybe it would have been better in a whiter base. Used the powders directly in the batter, no oil infusions.

I've used spirulina before and it does fade to a olive green. I want to find a non fading green but for now I like the spirulina. I was really surprised by the turmeric, I expected more of a yellow but I really like how it turned out.

Thanks for sharing that experiment. The spirulina might just be what i was looking for today. (if the colors on computer are coming out true.) It looks almost perfectly like the green I was trying to "morph into" today on a soap.

I like the tops.

Go light on the spirulina, too much and you will have a very deep bright green. I didn't measure how much I used today but I would guess its around 1/2 tsp ppo.

Thanks Obi. Now if I can get a natural blue to work out right, I'll be in heaven. 8)

Oooo pretty! Im really liking the turmeric and paprika..thanks for sharing your results :)

Those look great, nice job! I love using natural colorants but I've had my share of failures. Getting that many colors right in one batch is pretty impressive.

Have you tried alkanet powder or indigo yet for purple and blue? I have a decent batting average with alkanet but haven't used my new indigo yet. They both can be tricky but that's half the fun, right??

I have heard that green tea and cucumber can both produce green - haven't tried either of them yet though!

Love the way the soap turned out :) good work :)
