I used my pvc mold for these. The scent is "cinnamon, hazelnut, coffee" and it is to die for! But then I do love edible smelling scents :) I made this with goats milk and put it in the freezer. Thanks for looking

I havent beveled the edges yet. In real life, the brown is a real nice caramel color!

How come so many of your soaps look like root beer? It's because you're trying to make me eat them, isn't it? ;) lovely as always! Do you have a website?

LOL! I SHOULD make a rootbeer one, that soounds gooood :-D. I've always been a fan of swirling! It smelled so good in here yesyerday, i made a coconut exfoliating bar, and the scents from the other two batches made the day before ( myan mocha & toasted almond ) blended into a heavenly aroma in my soaping room! Now im addicted to using goat milk.... the conditioning is unreal.

I wish I had a website. Im not very computer savy but I know sooner or later I will need to tackle that. After i get insurance i plan on putting my soaps on Etsy. I have several local stores that want to sell my soap, one is even comission free! I plan to start a facebook page too...all in due time. Right now im focusing on production because my vacation from work ends on monday :-?. Then its marketing, marketing, marketing! well, i gotta get my lables first lol!

very pretty!!!! they remind me of a dust storm :)

ya, I can see where you could see that! I love getting feedback on the pics. I often wonder where "my vision" falls in between everyone elses. We would all like to think that we are making something that looks cool....of course not all things go as planned and we ALL know that as soapers!

Sounds like you have a great plan in place. How abou mixing all the scents you use recently since
It smells so good? Just an idea. Glad you got to make so many.

Good idea! I wish i knew more about mixing scents but i guess if your nose tells you the combo smells good, then roll with it lol! I'm really glad I got to make so many too. I was off for 3 weeks and it was my goal to finally push forward with my soap business. Im not looking to get into a big time operation but selling my soap to some local stores, on Etsy and through word of mouth will be good enough for me. If I didnt have to work then I would be hitting it like gangbusters!

One way to mix scents is to use one drop per part you plan to use and drop it in an ounce of water. It will give you an approximation of the smell. So for example:

1 drop coconut
1 drop mocha
2 drops almond

Then in your batch you would use 1/2 the amount each of coconut and mocha as you did almond to get your scent mix.

Wow I sound like a math teacher, sigh. Sorry. ;)

Another way to test scent is to soak your drop mixture onto a qtip and drop it in a plastic bag. Smell it a few times throughout the day to see how you feel about it and adjust as necassary. This is how I've made perfumes in the past, and it works pretty well since you get to test the fragrance at it's different notes as it fades.

Wow, thanks for the tips! I was opening the bottles and huddling them together and then I would kind of try to whiff them all at once lmao! I got headrushes quite a few times doing this. Then I started to put a drop of the scent combos onto a paper towel and smelling it that way, but I like your idea better. :-D

Rock&Royalty - That's hilarious because that's exactly what I've been doing, two bottles huddled together - head rush, three bottles huddled together - head ache, repeat - nausea :p I think I'll go with melstan775's ideas!

Yummy looking soap! It reminds me of caramel and white chocolate. I have a Facebook page for my soaps, and I have a web site ready to open, but I've hit a snag. My cell phone is having serious problems and I have to wait til the end of the month to upgrade it. Don't buy Pantech phones. They are pathetic.

I have some basic soaps in my stock right now, and I've sold a few, mainly to the residents of my apartment complex. I'm expecting a shipment of micas and scents from BB later this week. Next week I'm going to branch out and make "pretty" soaps. I think they will sell better. My soaps appeal to a vegan audience, as I don't use animal products in them.

My web site is free as long as I only show 5 items at a time. It's with Bi Cartel. I have had a dilly of a time figuring things out, including opening a Pay Pal account. Right now my aim is to make enough money to pay back what I have put into my supplies. Eventually I'd like to go bigger. I am disabled, and hubby is retired, so I;d like to supplement our income a bit.

I have umbrella insurance that will cover my A now, but if I start selling soaps I'll upgrade that.

If my soaps don't move, my family and friends know what they will be getting from me as gifts until I die...LOL!

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll do the qtip test as well. I used to live for Tommy Girl perfume. I wore it everyday, until, one day it just belted me across the room. It STUNK. My natural odor didn't do the perfume well.

I want to facepalm whenever someone says they can't figure out how to open paypal or do other software. It's freaking a maze isn't it??? It's not though, if you just take the time to actually read what's on the screen. One step at a time, and you'll never forget it because trust me, you never, ever want to do that again! Let us know how you do when you're open. Etsy is also free minus 20 cents flat listing rate. Can show more items that way!

Do you mind posting a picture of your round soap with the beveled edges? Did you use a beveler bought online or have you found a better way to bevel round soap? I have a beveler I bought online & it works great for straight edges but I can't get it uniform for round soap. Do I just need more practice or is there a 'better way'?
