my soap overheated

I'm very upset. This hasn't happened to me before. I think I'm just going to cut it up and make a sort of confetti soap with it.. but my question is can I use the same recipe and omit the additives without running the risk of it overheating again?
This is the recipe I used
8% superfat
50% OO
20%CO
15% Soybean
10% Cocoa butter
5% Caster

Additives (wich I will likely be omiting)
2oz goats milk ppoo
.5 oz honey ppoo
1 g milk thistle ppoo
1 oz cocoa powder ppoo

I'd still really like to keep the goats milk in there. But if there's to much of a risk then I'll omit that as well
 
I would say the honey is what caused it to overheat. You can make the same recipe without the honey and stick the mold in your freezer as soon as you pour the soap.
 
you could make the same recipe but put it in the freezer right after you're done with it. Clear the space in the freezer before you start soaping, and the second you decide you're done, pop it in there for two hours. It will cool right away and continue to cool. Some people move their soaps from the freezer to the fridge for the remainder of the night, I just put mine out on the kitchen counter. It's frozen after two hours, the risk of it heating back up is marginal.
 
I think it's the combo of the honey and the milk. Did you insulate the mold after pouring it? I make either milk or honey but never both. Putting it in the freezer will stop it unless you have a thick wooden mold.

No I didn't insulate it after I poured it :/ I didn't even think that the milk and honey would be an issue because I've done the same thing with all of my coffee soaps... the mold I used is an inch thick all around. I had it in the freezer for about an hour before I realized putting it in there was going to just cause a partial gel so I took it out.
I already decided on using my silicone mold for the rebatch so I can put it in the freezer with no problem. I would have used it to start but its being occupied by another batch at the moment
 
When I make my OMH soap I make sure to either stick it in the freezer or set on my covered front porch. It's still freezing in upstate NY so that helps keep the soap from overheating. Using both the milk and the honey is like a double whammy and either could cause soap to over heat (at least in my experience), but I usually have the most trouble with the honey.
