So I made my very first shampoo bar Saturday with the following recipe. When I removed it from the mold it was soft. Not play-doh soft, men I can make indents with my finger. It has not hardened with time. I used it yesterday and I love it. My hair has never been softer. So what could I add to the recipe to make it harder?

45g SCI
20g SLSA
18g Coco glucoside
8g Betaine
3g Shea Butter
2g Lanette vax (the original recipe called for BTMS but I could not get that here)
2g Panthenol
1g Preservative ( I used Calium Sorbat)
1g Essentiel Oil
1g Vitamin E

I would try a harder butter, like cocoa butter. Maybe try adding around 3% sodium lactate.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but my bars definitely get harder over time. I know technically these don't have to be "cured," but mine are so much sturdier if I let them be for a month or so before using.

Thank you for your feedback. I'll try adding sodium lactate. And let it sit more before using it.
