The other day, I melted up palm kernel oil to cast it into chocolate bar moulds for easier dosage (and for fun!). The melt was water-clear and slightly yellowish when I poured it into the silicone moulds, placed outside (~10°C) to solidify. I wouldn't be surprised when the surface wouldn't come out totally smooth, because fractionated crystallisation and stuff. But I didn't expect what I've seen instead:
Admittedly, this is illumiated under a grazing angle to make it look more dramatic, but this relief has really erected fully by itself (protected from wind and vibrations). Yes, these PKO glyceride molecules have moved and climbed several millimetres against gravity, just to crystallise where their buddies had settled before!
ETA: The “Attach files” and “Post thread” buttons are too similar
