This one is scented with WSP's Brown Sugar, has finely ground oatmeal in it, and is one of the very few I've made with anything sprinkled on the tops. The oats just seemed like a good idea at the time, lol. The soap is made with oatmilk for the water, and I substituted some maple syrup for the honey I usually add.
This batch was made for my kiddo, he picked the scent (WSP's Raspberry Lemonade) and the colors. It's really high in olive oil, with the usual honey and tussah silk that I put in every batch.
In the mold:
And cut:
This batch isn't much as far as the aesthetics, but it's a 3 lb batch that I made for my dad for Father's Day. I've been sending my soaps home with dad and my stepmom, and this is the bar that made him throw his Irish Spring away, so I made him more. It has yogurt, cucumber puree, aloe gel (finally got to use some of my aloe plants' leaves), kelp powder and spirulina for color, and is scented with rosemary and lavender.
Just unmolded:
and a cut pic, although it was taken immediately after cutting, so the color's still funny from the cut surfaces not being dry:
Next pics are my first batch with lard, love how this one is looking and I can't wait to try it. Scented with WPS's Coconut Lime Verbena.
The green looks crazy bright in the pics of it in the mold :
Unmolding:
And this is how it turned out:
These are Black Raspberry And Vanilla Cream from Day-Star, yum:
This one is Dreamsicle, smelled just like an orange creamsicle OOB but smells more vannila-y now. It's still a nice scent, just not the same:
Next batch about made me pull my hair out. A friend of ours loves patchouli and I despise the smell, so it was a batch I already wasn't thrilled about making. The scent I settled on was Patchouli Dusk from Day-Star, and the amber does a really nice job of making the patch something I can deal with. The bad news is that it accelerated like mad. I expected some from the reviews I read, but it went super-fast. The soap came out of the mold too ugly to give away, so I did my first rebatch, and the result was sort of odd, the surface of the soap took on a crackled appearance from being poured in too hot and cooling too fast (screwup on my part, not being rebatch savvy) and I started thinking about the scent and the color and said "screw it, that's dragon skin". Once it was cut, I drybrushed gold mica onto the leathery side to highlight the texture, and now it's dragon skin. I'm sticking to that name, lol, maybe she'll think that it was an intentional look:
That's it for the more recent batches, next ones are going to be Mata Hari from Southern Garden, omg I adore that scent and will be making myself some perfume roll-ons with it as soon as I get the stuff ordered. After that, it's salt bars.
Thanks for looking, and happy soaping!
