my lotion color disapeared

hi i made some lotions and colored them with oxides ie Iron oxide. that i disolved in glycerine. and the colors came out ok but after a day the lotion turned white. what did i do wrong?

ps is there a better ingrediant that is fda approved to color lotions?

I am almost certian that you are supposed to only use fd+c colors in lotions. I do and use the liquids. They are very strong, a little goes a long way and I have never had any fade.

the website that i bought the iron oxide said it was fda aprroved to use oxides. was this not true?
