I made my first batch on Valentine's Day. That would be the basic white soap on the right (OO, Lard, Sunflower, Canola). My second was the middle one. It's OO, Lard, Sunflower, Canola, with honey and oatmeal. The green is CO, OO, lard, canola, & Castor with a sea foam green colorant and cucumber FO. It has the best lather. I'm so addicted! These are all going to family as gifts and I can't wait to hear how they like them. I'm hoping they do as much as I do!

I LOVE THIS SITE! You guys have helped me so much!

I just found some new molds. My next 2 will be lavender and one with buttermilk.

They look great :)

Are you using downspouting as molds for some of those ? If so, what size did you get ? I see 2x3 and 3x4 just not sure which to get...decisions, decisions, decisions.

Yes, I'm using the 2x3 down spout. I plan on giving these as gifts and just felt the 3x4 was too big. These came out a little smaller than an average size bar when cut at 1' wide.

The only issue I have is when I get them out, if the vaseline was thick in some areas, it turns the soap lighter in that area. Not a huge deal. I don't plan on selling these  .

Thanks for the comments!

Thanks! I've got a batch of TTO soap for my DH in the mold and hopefully a buttermilk/lavender one sometime in the near future. My kids love lavender and so do I and I've read the buttermilk makes them very creamy!I'm about out of CO & OO so I'm going to have to wait on that one. Someday!

terrific looking soaps! and great idea for mold. you should be proud-wish some of my first soaps turned out so lovely!

good job!!! :D

Thanks! I am very proud and very shocked! I was not expecting to have such good results having NEVER done this before. I'm very excited because I think I have found something that I'm really good at and can do without compromising my spare time!

Here are the CO,Lard, TTO soaps I made for DH for his acne and oily skin. Boy are they strong as far as the TTO and I used only .15oz for the 1/2# of oils. They are a beautiful white. I used a cupcake silicone mold and filled maybe about 2/3 of the way full. I'm very proud of what I've been able to accomplish. Some people are saying "big deal, you made soap" until they read how the process is done! Then it's a totally different story!

Thanks!

When I came home from work, I looked at them again and now they have a slightly orange tint to them :? . The silicone mold is red, I'm wondering if it's from that or something else. It seems to be on the bottom only. No biggie. This soap is just for us. I'm still very happy at how they turned out!
