I finally did it :)))
coconut oil 30%
Palm oil 30%
Castor oil 10%
Shea butter 10%
Lard 20%
Lavender FO, Rose clay in a middle, Alkenet for coloring ( although i think i did not put enough) A little drying (maybe too much CO? or maybe i should leave it for another 2 weeks - I made it a month ago)

Hopefully it will mellow with time, but yes, I never use more than 20% coconut oil, even then it can be drying at first and really needs to cure to mellow.

Your soap is beautiful . As said above let it mellow a little longer . Well done !

Thank you guys :)
I have been obsessed with soap for quite some time, but lye was scaring me away  , so I was playing with M&P and got some great results, but I was always fascinated by the "real thing" and now i finally did it!
I already did my second batch last weekend... so i guess now i won't able to stop :) :D

lenka2207: Your first attempt is beautiful. I think your color looks great just the way you did it! How long did you have to wait before adding the white layer? I love the layered soaps and have done quite a few of them, but I always wait till the next day to add my second layer and was wondering if it could go on the same day as the first layer.

I did not wait at all. It took me only couple of minutes to add color to second layer. That is it... But i did sprinkled clay between the layers and maybe it stopped penetration .

I am going to try layering the same day. Then I'll have one mess for one batch instead of two. :D I usually have a thick batch because I like the creamy tops, but just worried that it would bleed into the second layer. Thanks for the tip! One of these days I will figure out how to download pictures.

Pretty, pretty soap. Love the clay in the middle - I'm certainly going to use that in the future!!! Thanks for the photos!
