I really wanted to make some pink, lavender eo soap.

I am however, not known for my patience.

So, I made a nice lard soap, and added lavender eo at trace. I also added.... 1 1/4 pink crayons melted!!! LOL!!! The pictures tell the story of the result, which is very pretty, however I am having a really hard time with having a crayon in my natural soap!!!

However, my 7 year old grand daughter Emma saw them and went wild! She is insisting now that I have to make her her very own pink soaps. So now, I am on a quest for pink clay!

I do love the way they look though!
This was my first batch that day, the second batch was orange FO and baby carrots, they are a pale yellow color.

I like the colour, but I do agree about having a crayon in your natural soaps. There must be something that you can colour soaps with to that gorgeous colour!

:D

Very pretty....kinda weird to think of crayons in soap, but the color is absolutly gorgeous. I too am on a quest for clays to color my soaps. If you find suppliers, please let me know. Thank you!

They really are a pretty shade of pink and look great...but I too am working with all natural ingredients so I would love to learn of something natural for pink coloring. Also, I've read that you shouldn't use crayons, but I am fairly new to this so maybe someone more seasoned could tell us why. For a pale lavender shade, I have used alkanet root powder. I add a very small amount (approx 1/4 t or less depending on recipe - you can always add more if needed) to 1 ounce of oil (from the recipe). I then add the tinted oil to my batch after the lye is mixed with all the other oils, but before trace. It comes out to be a nice natural lavender, but not as vivid and pretty as your pink.

For a natural pink you can search for yeallow dock on the forum; several people have had really nice outcomes with this powder.
Pink clay gives a soft, natural looking pink.

One poster suggested for a soft pink soap to use French Pink Clay. I have spent a considerable amount of time searching many of the soap suppliers' websites and have not been able to find "French Pink Clay". I have found other clays but not one by that name. Anybody know where it can be purchased?

From nature with love has a nice section of clays and muds... Must be more suppliers though. Look for pink kaolin clay.

Thanks dagmar88 - I believe I saw pink kaolin clay so will check this out. I was looking specifically for the French Pink Clay; was wondering if it might have another name. Thanks so much!

looks wonderful! Let us know what happens in the clays. I'm also interested in clays.
