This is the top of the Black Raspberry Vanilla using the column swirl method in a wooden log mold.

I was pleased with the outcome. Every bar is swirled so differently. My husband made the column. I asked for square, he made rectangle. Story of our life  When we were dating (20+ years ago) I kept asking for aquamarine/blue topaz jewelry, he kept buying sapphires. I never did get the aquamarine or blue topaz. But, I have 3 or 4 sapphire rings. Sorry, off topic.

Wow! I love the the colors and swirls in your soap. I think they look fantastic. Now I really need to try a column swirl.

It's your thread. You can talk about anything you want.

You did an awesome job! I am starting to love this method after seeing these pics, I might need to get brave and try it. :D

Thanks! I picked the BRV from Peak because everyone commented on how well it behaved (and didn't discolor). I started pouring at a fairly thin trace.

Next, I think I'll try the mantra swirl. Need to watch a few more videos first! May try that with Love Spell.

I want to ask about this. What was the column made of, wood? How big/tall was it? Thank you!

Soapygurl- my husband took 3 pieces of wood and glued them together. Then he cut it evenly to approx. 2x3 inches, it's about 6 inches tall. For a slab mold, I would probably do a 3x3 block about 6 -8 inches tall. Hope that helps.

Your soap looks amazing! I love the column colours and swirls ... wish I was brave enough to give it a go.

Mantra swirl?

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Kaz- Here's a video on youtube re: mantra swirl. I don't know about the coat hanger, but I've seen other videos where they just swirl the top. There's at least one more video on the right side when you watch this one about a mantra swirl.

HTH!

Thanks everyone! I will definitely play with this method again. I can't decide if I will try it with my slab mold. I have the pink silicone slab mold from WSP with the grooves in the bottom. Afraid the soap will drag somewhat on the grooves instead of nicely spreading out. Could be interesting, but still debating that one.
