So I took Rock&Royaltys idea of leaving the bottom natural and making the top white, I have no experience with layering colors, and as you can tell i still need some more practice  I think my issue was that i did everything at a fairly light trace. So next time ill wait a tad bit longer before i do the top layer. I used eucalyptus and peppermint EOs, so it has a nice bitter sweet scent :)

How did you get the top white? I love how the layers came out. I did a batch and the layers came out just like yours. I also didn't wait long enough to pour the top. Pouring over a spoon helps a little. The next layered batch I did was more even.

I love it...what a great idea for beer soap. I haven't tried that yet, I guess I'm going to have to. What benefit do you get from the beer?

Very pretty beer soap, and interesting EOs for a beer soap. Did you use a specialty beer?

No, I just used some left over Budweiser from turkey day
Me and my husband rarely drink so if we get a 6 pack for a special occasion we always have at least 2 left over. :)
I don't have a lot of EOs so I thought I'd just do my favorite combo

I used 1/4 tsp TD

The sugars in the beer boost the lather. That and it makes a pretty color ;)

Awesome!!! I actually like the color of yours better :p I used guiness though so I should have expected mine to turn out so dark. Dont you just love how it looks like a beer with head on it?! Good job and I think your layers look just fine :)

Very cool! Turned out great. I'm gonna have to swipe a beer from the fridge this weekend!

How is beer incorporated into the recipe? In place of the water in the Lye solution?

I love making beer soap. I use stout beers or other real dark ones. I think beer makes the creamiest best lather. I like adding wsp oatmeal stout then I add chunks of goats milk to make "Drunken Goat" soap. :)

have to let the beer sit in the fridge for a couple days in a bowl and stir every so often...then add the lye VERY slow or you'll have a huge mess on your hands. Make sure you ventilate because it gets pretty harsh.

I reduce the beer to 25% then freeze it in cubes, not that it freezes very well because of the sugar. I then mix my lye with water at a 50:50 level and add the balance of the liquid in my frozen beer. It allows me to have a lot of beer in the soap, actually more than I would have if I just used the beer straight after eliminating the alcohol and carbonation.

Thats basically what i did except for i didnt dilute the concentrated cubes. I just used it all in place of water
