Here's my first beer soap. It's got little dots in it (don't know why??) but it came out nice otherwise, smells great and was easy peasy to make. Well, the smell of lye mixed with beer wasn't pleasant but otherwise all went well.

I was inspired to make this after using bigmoose's awesome beer shampoo! :D

Cool! Let us know how it works out for you as a shampoo bar. Even if it is a month from now!

Looks cool to me. What does it smell like? Did you scent it or is it a natural smell?

Thanks so much everyone for all your positive comments! :D It is CP soap and I scented it with a FO called "forbidden fruit". It's gonna be a bummer to have to wait 4 weeks but I must. When cure time is over I'll let you all know if it works well as a shampoo - or not. I can always use it as regular soap if the shampoo thing doesn't work out for my excessively oily hair. My fingers are crossed.

The dots seem to be a hit - go figure - ya just never know...........

A good friend of ours has a micro brewery here & I am thinking of making some soap out of his blonde ale. If it turns out as good as his beer, then it will be awesome!

yummah! Looks mighty good, and I love a good beer soap. Seems to be the only thing I make...

Could the bubbles be from air trapped in the bell of the stick blender? I have a cheapie from Walmart that forces me to angle it and "burp" it before I blend. If I don't I get bubbles similar to yours. I like the bubbles anyway, you can tell people it's the bubbles in the beer! Hah.

Hehehe! That's quite funny! Yep, I could tell them it's the bubbles from the beer and they wouldn't be any the wiser right?

Awesome! I made a beer soap/shampoo bar that I use on my hair, and I really liked what it did for for my hair. It sudzed like crazy from the beer, which was great. I love your idea for the lemon and honey. Did you add real lemon juice?

Of course, I am sold on Big Moose's beer shampoo, as is my DH!

Yep, I used real lemon juice. Lemon is good as a rinse so i thought it couldn't hurt to put it in the soap right? That's the fun of soapmaking, you can experiment to your hearts desire and tweak your recipe until you get it right!
