I picked up two of these from Southern Garden Scents a while back, and ended up getting another one last week. They are absolutely fantastic for salt bars, no more worrying over cutting too soon or too late, and I love the shape and size.

When I use these my normal non-salt recipes produce bars that weigh ~4.4 ounces fully cured, and my salt bars are in the neighborhood of 5.8 ounces each. I don't usually fill them right to the top, so you could get a slightly heftier bar out of them if you wanted to.

The soaps pop right out as long as I leave them alone long enough, the only time I've had problems with a soap sticking was when I got impatient with a really high OO content soap, completely my own fault.

This is a batch I just put to bed tonight, 60% OO so it'll need a fair amount of time in the molds before it's ready to come out. My son thinks they look like vanilla puddling, lol, no colorant because they're going to go daaaaark from the FO:

and this is what salt bars look like out of those molds:

Anyway, the molds are here, and I'm going to be using them for all of my non-swirled soaps from now on I think. I may even try a few ITP swirls in them to see how those turn out.

I have those and have only used them for salt bars. What a dream to use. Super smooth too. They are huge, but work very well in the shower. You don't even have to fill them up all the way and it doesn't ruin the shape.

I have not tried them with regular soap recipes because i was scared they'd stick like crazy.

Do you grease the molds at all? When you say fair amount of time for 60% OO, are you talking 2 days, 3 days, etc? I don't care how long they would need to sit. I'd also do CPOP with them.

Also thanks for posting the weights for a non salt bar.

You can twist the mold by grabbing two corners. They are pretty stiff, but you can still twist them.

I love the shape; are they silicone molds? The color on your salt bar is beautiful.

Those are very nice . I am loving your soap color .
I bought some of the clear plastic molds in that shape , I have 6 salt bars stuck in them . I have tried everything to get them out  .

They're not really flexible, they're a heavy plastic but have just the slightest amount of give to them. I don't spray them with anything, and so far haven't had anything stick.

Milla, the soaps that're in there now will most likely need 4-5 days before I try to unmold them, I'll give them a poke with my finger around then and see if they feel good and solid, then go from there. My first batch of that recipe was ruined because I was a dork and tried to rush the unmolding, lol.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of pouring 2 colors into a cavity and trying for a big swirl or something like that. Sometimes I just don't want to cut my soaps!

Ooo, I've been thinking of trying the same, just to see how it turns out. I like the swirls I can get in a log or slab, but these are so much easier!

I had to try my mold (I guess I only have 1!) today with CP. I did my basic 50% olive and 25% each CO, PO. I used Fresh Pear FO from HeavenScent and a 2:1 lye ratio. Nettle leaf tea for color. Added FO to oils but once the SB hit it I could see it setting up before my eyes. Luckily I got it poured and in the oven. Smells great! I'll be patient with them and let them come out when they want to come out.

Those look wonderful!! I have those too and you can do an ITP swirl. They can also go in the oven on low. That is how I did my salt bars.

I cheated and looked at my pear soap. They popped right out of the mold! I put them back in to finish cooling properly. Not worth taking a picture as they turned out extremely boring! I was a little worried as the bottoms were all bumpy, but the tops are nice and smooth.
