A few weeks back I made a spotty loaf by making pink spots in ice cube trays and embedding them in layers of white, checked on them yesterday and the pink has bled so its now a blur :( Also some of my other embeds have started to bleed!

I use justasoap.com's colours and fragrances.

How can i stop this from happening and ruining my soap!

Thanks

You have to make sure you use colorants that do not bleed. Many suppliers will indicate whether or not a colorant is going to bleed or migrate like that. I know both Brambleberry and WSP indicate whether or not a specific colorant will perform that way in melt and pour. Brambleberry has a whole section just for non-bleeding colorants: http://www.brambleberry.com/Non-Bleeding-Colorants-C303.aspx

Hi, thank you, unfortunately I'm in the UK and don't know if bramble berry will deliver here, will have to have a look around

Look for mineral colorants like micas or oxides (which should be readily available in the UK or from the continent).

Anyone know the best place to get new non bleeding colours from? Bit gutted I can't get creative until I have new ones :(

I have gotten most of my colors through Wholesale Supplies Plus. I chose to get oxides as they are usable in both MP and CP soaps. I started with MP soaps and am making almost all CP now. You will likely want to get some glycerin to mix the powders with for MP soaps as well. I hope this was somewhat helpful :)
