It has been a while since I've posted. Been super busy!

Here's a beer soap I made about 3 months ago.

It looks very creamy. I've yet to delve into the beer soaping, but some of the pics I've seen lately, including yours, makes me want to give it a go.

You should! My husband loves it, lol. He actually took this bar to a guy that he works with. My dad has also used a bar. I didn't even do the boiling method. Just poured the beer into an open bowl and let it go flat in the fridge for about a week or so. No problems for me.

Your beer soap looks fantastic!

I so want to make this ... just wish I had your confidence! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Just do it! That's what I do most of the time lol. If it does something funky, then I take it as a learning experience and don't do that again lol.

Funny story:
I gave that piece of soap to my husband to take to work for a guy who wanted some. I asked him this morning if he gave the soap to the guy and he says the guy said "I don't wanna smell like beer." LOL! Husband says that he uses it all the time and he doesn't smell like beer. The guy says, "Well, I don't wanna smell like beer. Get me another kind." Hahaha!

You're inspiring me SilverFox!

Some questions - Did you replace all the water with beer? Did you use and FO or EO? Apart from letting the beer go flat and adding the lye very slowly to prevent overheating ... is the rest of the process for making beer soap the same as making soaps from the usual oils, butter and water?

Any other advice?

Great that your hubby is loving your soap!

Aww, you're making me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Yep, I replaced all of the water with beer. No FO's or EO's on this batch. Everything else went the same as making a regular batch (minus the beer instead of water, of course).

Warning, if I remember correctly, the smell of the beer and lye is awful (or maybe that was the coffee soap I made? Either way...) Ventilation!

Some people boil the beer to get out the alcohol (I believe that's what can cause the volcano). You can search on here to find that method, but I just left mine in the fridge for about a week or so until it was totally flat.

I need to make some more actually. I have some beer in there that's been opened for about 2 months now lol. Should be extremely flat :p

Oh, I also do not gel. I prefer that look over gelled soap.

Looks great.
I like the big chunk instead of a tiny little one inch circle you usually get.
Looks like a man size chunk!! Love it.
Creamy too... nice one.

Looks yummy! If you don't mind me asking, what does the beer do for the soap as in the benefits of it, or is it just fun to make? :)

Edit: I've just seen another post on beer soap and see it's good for bubbles, might try it hehe :D

These bars actually came out really big, that's why I cut them in half lol. They're still decent sized. Definitely man sized lol.

But yes, the sugars in the beer gives the soap a really good lather :D

I gave away 8 bars to the guys I work with today. They were very pleased, although I had to tell them NOT to eat it, haha! One guy thought it was fudge. I almost didn't get "That's soap!" out of my mouth before he tried to eat it. It even had a tag on it that said "Beer Soap" lol.

I think I should make some more since I'm fairly certain I'll be getting requests for it now.

Hmm... another item on my "to try" list. I have about 10 bottles of beer left that are well beyond their freshness date (was given to me and don't like the brand). I think I'll try a batch sometime soon. Sounds interesting! It's either that or feed all of the slugs in the neighborhood...

I made a guinness beer soap that just finished curing and I love it. My Dad actually likes it, the first one of my soaps he will use. Its lightly cleansing and super bubbly, I will definitely make another.
