I own a Handbag store and have decided to start selling my soaps and bath products in the store! I am having so much fun. I have to make signs and such tonight for the shelves. Maybe add some washclothes, gift baskets, loofahs, etc. What do ya think? Any suggestions would be so welcome. Thank you, Billie

I believe that samples with a purchase is a great idea, thank you. I will also put them up by the register for the impulse shoppers, thank you. Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments and suggestions.

:D almost forgot!!!

very nice selection and packaging!

you may want to think about later is a "cutsey" display- multi-level using tiny crates and baskets. it gives a flat display a little "POP!"

a michaels or other big crafts store carries tons of stuff you could use as display features.

i was going to suggest the same thing as heartsong. make some different levels for stuff. it brings more interest to the display. also, you might want to put the shelves up a bit higher, more eye level, if there is anyway to do that.

Great ideas, I will move them up and get some crates to put the soaps in, maybe a free standing one for the floor, thank you again. :D

just a BTW, i was reading an article last week about "point of purchase stimulation" and that items near a cash register that were scented candy, fruit or sweet food scents often out-sell florals or spice blends.

how cool! it is so great to have so much advice, i know you will be very successful.

I cant thank everyone enough for the comments and suggestions. Thank you thank you thank you :D

Gekko62, AMEN!!!! No matter how bad the economy is, us girls still buy purses and accessories. We have over 1,000 purses in our store along with belts, jewelry, and of course Daisy Hill Soap ;)
Here is my website for the store: www.binghamtonbagcompany.com

Very nice, I hope they sell well for you, I agree with what's been said above - there is no stopping you now!

I have to say that I would be stoked if I were in your shoes!

How are people reacting to it?

Our store has been open for about 10 mt now. I am just starting the soap and bath products stuff, so it is slow going right now. The over 1,000 purses has been a huge hit, now I just have to steer the ladies to my bath products. I am giving a free sample soap to each customer along with my business card for the bath products, hopefully this will help. I also have put some really yummy smelling products right on the counter where they check out, we shall see.

maybe get 2 small pieces of wood and a dowel rod to make an L shaped "shelf" and make a small display of some of your stuff at the register. something pretty and eye catching that makes people want to go back to where your stuff is and look at it some more.
