So, I'm at work (I work a whole 2 days a month as a relief!) I've been here since 5:30am, and I can't stop looking at the clock.... waiting for 3pm to come so I can go home and CUT MY SOAP!!

LOL. I love cutting soap! It's like Christmas morning every time. "Hmmm, what are we gonna get?" I get so excited! I usually make my soap in the evenings and unmold and cut it the next day.... sometimes I can hardly sleep at night because I keep thinking about how cool my soap is going to look in the morning.

Yeah, I'm pretty geeky! ;) Does anyone else get excited like me?

LOL...Yeah, I totally get what your saying.
I've missed a few hours of sleep myself. I usually
unmold mine in the morning as well.

Simply giddy!!! We all must be soap nerds...I also peeked at my Christmas presents when I was a kid...

Add me to the list....I have a batch gelling in the oven right now.....can hardly wait to get it out, cool it and CUT IT!!!!

I react the same way. I really thought I was extreme with my soap thoughts, but I guess not! Seriously, last night was the first in a long list of nights that I fell asleep without thinking of soap. I have some new people in my life to make soap for and I am absoutely giddy thinking about what type of soap I will present them with. Tonight, I will go to bed thinking of soap!

I do the same thing. I keep checking my "babies". I am so bad I have a really tough time just waiting for the oil and lye to cool enough to mix. I keep the lye outside where I mix it and then keep stirring and checking the temperature constantly waiting for it to cool a little.

I have also lost a lot of sleep thinking about soap. It's new to me and I found myself wondering if I was going to get my seeds done this year. I have a huge almost 1 acre garden that is all veggies and flowers and I suspect it will suffer a lot this year. I've been trying (SERIOUSLY) how to quit working full time so I can just soap, garden and cook.

Yes I do the same thing.
It is just like opening presents making that first cut into a log of new soap...
It is just the same when they are curing, I like to walk past a couple of times a day and check on them to make sure they are ok, give them a pat...

   everyone! Me too....we are definitely addicted soaping nerds - more power to us!!!

I fall asleep think of soap and I wake up thinking of soap...some of my nicest soap ideas have come to me in that twilight world just before I am fully awake. I love soap

Tanya :)

Another soap nerd here too... LOL

The only time I'm not too thrilled about cutting is when I KNOW the batch isn't going to be like I want it, but I still can't wait to cut it. It's just a different kind of excitement... LOL It's more of a "how disappointed am I going to be" instead of a "oooh what's it gonna look like" type of thing... LOL

Count me in as one of the nerds. I, too, fall asleep dreaming up soap projects and wake up to rush and check on the soaps I made the night before. We are drowning in soaps....I give them to everyone I know and even to the homeless shelter by the box load. HELP....

Gardening and soaping go hand in hand

Do those seeds Jody . You will want all the plants you can get for your botanicals in soaping.
Of course what you plant may be a little more slanted to soap making botanicals.

so true, i walk by mine like 10 time s day! open wood mold to see whats happening, smell and smell some more, gosh we've lost it!

So here I am - ANOTHER one! Nothing makes me spring out of bed faster than knowing I have some soap to cut, I like calling it LOVE better than OCD! How happy I am that soap and I have found each other. My grandson asked me the other day what my favorite word was, and I said the first word that popped into my head, which was "cacophony" (don't ask me why...) and my daughter-in-law said, no, it isn't. Your favorite word is SOAP. At least, that is the word that you use the most. LOL At least I know that I am not alone, I have all my new soap buddies from this forum. Yay for soap! :!: :!: :!: :!: And Yay for soap buddies! :!: :!: :!:

x

i had a soap nightmare!

the other night i woke up from a dead-sleep and realized i had left my soap in the oven and hadn't shut the oven off!

i flew out of bed and ran to the kitchen-the oven was off, there was no soap inside...my soap was sitting on the counter-i'd already taken it out of the oven before i went to bed!

after reality set in and i realized what happened, i fixed some tea and started thumbing thru my recipies and f/o's planning the next batch to make...my husband thinks i'm crazy!

LOL! it's amazing what tricks your unconscious mind can play on you!
