Has anyone tried this shave soap tutorial?

https://www.modernsoapmaking.com/tutorial-shaving-soap-recipe/

The one from Modern Soapmaking.

I've tried the exact recipe a few times with my only variations being the additives after the cook.

My problem is that is seems too thick to work with.

The second my lye water hits the melted oils it gets really thick!

I stick blended it as she suggests but it only thins out a little (which she state will happen).

Once the cook is finished ( I left mine go about an hour), you have this big thick glob that is very similar to the paste when you make liquid soap. This really makes it impossible to stir in the additives.

I managed to loosen it up a bit with the Sodium Lactate and the additives, but it was still super thick. I stick blended the additives in (as she suggests), but I wound up with a nice pudding like consistency with little chunks in it that I could not get out.

My overall soap is very nice and nice to shave with, but I do seem to have little chunks in it that I wasn't able to get out.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

I'd love to hear.
