Hi All. Happy Halloween!

Was curious to know if I am able to mix ultramarines and oxides with a tad of glycerin to color some CP soap?

Would these powders mix well with Glycerin and is a little bit of added Glycerin ok for a CP soap recipe without changing anything?

I mixed some Oxides today with a little bit of water and the powder just stuck to the container. I couldn't even scrape it out!

I mix my oxide with a spoon full of soap mix while I am waiting for it to trace. I found that water was useless also the first time I tried it.

I don't know about glycerin, I can't see it affecting the soap at all, but one of the more experienced soapers probably knows more than I do there.

I always mix micas, UMs and oxides with a bit of glycerin, it makes the mixing a breeze.

I mainly use a little bit of glycerin to mix my oxides and ultramarines with before adding to my soap. I then stickblend them into the soap batter. Works great!

oxides

i have had great luck using small lidded jars to mix my pigments and micas using just plain oil like olive or castor-whatever i have on hand-i mix to a spoonable thickness and it disperses easily using my hand mixer. i find my cheapo $5 mixer blends colors better when i make rtcp.
