I haven't used to many micas but do they all have a kinda shimmer to them?
From my experience they do not have a shimmer at all. They look really shimmery in the package but in the soaps they will be the true color. I love using Mica because it doesn't take much to color your soap. I use the cold process method.I haven't used to many micas but do they all have a kinda shimmer to them?

They don’t have a shimmer once they are in the soap. I suppose they’d have a shimmer if you used them on the tips of the soap though
Yes, all mica is shimmery.

Nurture Soap Supplies mostly. Mad Micas are good, but since they stopped selling fragrance oils I only order from them about once a year, if that. Micas and More is a FB group with a prebuy once a month. Bramble Berry and Rustic Escentuals also have reliable micas. Can you tell me where you get your mica? I got some from amazon, and it took a veritable sh$tload to get color!

Oh, that makes sense. I had dry blended into soap batter. But I think I may get a more certain incorporation by using it earlier. Thank you.I mix with sunflower oil and add after I reach emulsion since I usually split my batter for different colors. If doing a single color soap, I would just mix it in with everything else. When I mix my micas with oil, I only use enough to just get the mica pourable so as not to add too much extra oil to the batter. Mixing with water also works, and many people just stick blend dry mica into the batter.
