hi, i made a batch of soap yesterday and when i checked on it this morning it had a layer of oils sitting at the top....how do i save this batch or can it even be saved...

well it could have been caused by a couple of things
it could have overheated (more likely if you used honey, sugar, milk, etc.) or it could have not been completely emulsified when it was poured into the mold

If it's from the first you will probably see an odd texture on the surface of the soap (alligator skin, crinkly, crackly, etc.) - the oil may absorb into the soap so think about giving it more time. If that works you are all set, but if not you can rebatch.

If it's from the second it will look smooth, but with the oil on top and you will have to rebatch if you want to save your soap. :(
