I've been wanting to make a shaving soap for a BIL but I haven't gone much further than just searching.

Hi there! Although new in the smf, I thought I would share my recipe with you. This is for a small, testing batch, total 500 gr.

So, here it goes
200 gr Olive oil
150 gr Coconut oil
110 gr Palm Oil
40 gr Castor Bean oil

190 gr distilled water (I make a strong Lavender tea and use it instead of plain water)
72 gr NaOH (Superfatting at 4%)

Additives: 1 tsp Bentonite Clay
Mix of e.o. (My mix was Tea Tree, Lavender, Geranium, Pine)

Mixing the Clay: I took 20 gr of the lavender tea and mixed the clay with it to form a very thin paste.
I added this to my oils just before I pour the Lye solution.

Color is an earthy gray with a hint of green. (others would say muddy gray but I prefer earthy!)
