I seem to have lost my soap making mojo, here is what happened last night....

Made honey & lavender EO soap. All ingredients were weighed & measured, ready to go. I used half water & half coconut cream. Last time I found the CC sped up trace, so I added my EO with orris root powder at light trace, before the CC. No issues, everything blended nicely.

I stop to add in the honey & the soap siezed! At this point I thought maybe I could hand mix in the honey & CC, so added this as well. Oh dear! This didn't happen, the soap went hard so I thought putting it on the heat might help, it didn't.

So I ended up moulding a concoction of light coloured bits in a brown liquid sludge. It has hardened up overnight.

Will rebatching save it?

Adding pics tonight.

You never know! It might turn out ok.

I made some soap with a new fragrance - Mango Lemonade (love it!). I decided to colour 1/3 with paprika and while I was mixing that, the white portion decided to go pretty solid. I squooshed it together (not much of a "swirl") and mushed it into the mold. Since it was so thick, I made peaks on the top. When I cut it into slices, it looked like slabs of marble - quite pretty. :D

I had a similar problems when making Hot Cocoa fO soap. I was trying to figure out how the unscented (white) part traced faster left alone in a cup than the one I added my FO to and was stick blending.

I have a Mango Lemonade FO that moves at warp speed, too, even though I soap at room temp. Smells yummy, though. I got my FO from a retired soaper, so don't know what supplier made it.

Here is the mess

Here is the finished product after rebatch - does it look really bad?

Oh my! At first I thought brownies with large walnuts. Then I thought ...NO. You might find this to be useful for yourself, but ugh...not a pretty soap. Sorry. You tried really hard as I can see and they for sure have texture. They just look burnt. Hugs!

Wow...I read your description before the pictures and imagined what your sludge looked like but I didn't even come close to what the pictures look like.
I have to give you an A+ for rebatching. While I probably wouldn't sell it or give it away I would use it myself as long as it isn't lye heavy in spots.
Give it a couple weeks and then zap test it. And watch, it will turn out to be the best soap you've ever used and you'll never be able to recreate it again.

Perhaps it's not the prettiest soap, but I actually think it looks kinda cool in a way. Kinda looks like a chunk of marbled fudge. Others are right. I doubt it would sell, but you made the best of a sticky situation and probably have some usable soap that, as scouter139 said, will probably be the best batch ever!

Thanks guys. I have already washed my hands with a small bit & it is super creamy, not lye heavy at all. Up until the honey & coconut cream, it blended perfectly.

I have a feeling I may have mixed it a little too cold & the aircon was on as well as it was a warm night.

Personally I like it looks cute with the lighter bits, like brownies.

Friends & family will be appreciative.

I'd be tempted to rebatch it again and this time use a mixer to blend in those chunky bits. I had one batch of soap that I redid about 5 times before I thought it was presentable. But then I don't mind rebatching because I see it as experimenting. I use the microwave to rebatch.

I actually like the way it looks..I say cut the smooshed top part off, cut it into nice, smooth cubes and sell it as a rock soap..it's lovely that way.
