I have made a zinc ointment, but it was very dense, and I would like to make one :) that will spread more easily.
Should I increase the oil or decrease the amount of beeswax?
The ointment I made works very well, but is a pain to spread on the body evenly, without melting the ointment between your hands first.
I used just olive oil--beeswax and zinc oxice in the first batch.
I am open to suggestion if you have another successful recipe.
Thanks[/i]

I would try less wax and more oil to start. I include a touch of dimethicone in my zinc ointment for barrier protection and glide.

I don't have dimethicone, is there any other product that would have some slip. I have some rose wax but really don't want any scent to this.

what else do you use dimethicone in? I am still learning all the products, and like to have them on hand, if they add something to the cream, or whatever.

Thanks :) [/i]
