Making smooth soapy rocks

I have fallen in love with soapy rocks. I've made a couple of batches but the finished product ends up looking bumpy. After a few uses the bumps smooth out and the rocks take on a nice smooth surface. The method I have been using is basically to do a spin swirl, cut and smoosh into rocks. What I really want to do is make a batch that resembles rose quartz. Any suggestions on how to get a nice smooth surface from the start?

I wash my rocks after I form them into rocks which gives them a nice glossy finish.

I have a stone shaped soap mold and the bars look really cool with an ITP swirl.
