Well, I don't have a crinkle cutter. Was at the hardware store today - after not finding anything that could make crinkle cuts at the grocery store or the cake decorating store - as far as I will venture on Black Friday - and they sold me 2 brick ties for 0.62 cents. It works fine. I imagine it will not work for thick blocks, but I made a thin soap in a plastic mold. Plan to cut them like a pie with the crinckle cutter
Here is a pictue, I hope. Not a great image but u can see what they are. http://www.flatgrassblog.com/2009/04/28/4230-raleigh-street-construction-update-brick-is-almost- Go to the 4th and 5th pictures and you can see them better.
I figure I will push it through with the pressure of a ruler on the top and then use finger pressure on the sides to finish. Or .......
Hope this helps those of you, like me, who plan poorly and are just getting into this for the holidays.

Pampered Chef has the crickle cutters and I'm sure you can find them on-line somewhere.

Ah yes necessity is the mother of invention! Kitchen stores, like in the mall, sells crinkle cuters, or did a few yrs ago. Might try bed bath and beyond.

Brambleberry has them for $6 something. I'll prob get mine from them next time I order.

The mold I used was an old dollar store jello mold and it fell apart when I tried to unmold the soap. I used a cookie cutter and made one round piece of soap and then used the brck tie to make crinkly cuts. Unfortunatley, they look like claws to me so I think they will be used at home.
