Lye discount or superfat?

I was wondering what the different between a lye discount and superfatting a soap is because to me they almost sound basically the same.

You discounting the lye=wolves, so lye=wolves don't eat, all fats/oils=bunnies! so you have a few fats/oil=bunnies left behind which is superfatting
