I decided to rebatch with all of the shavings left over from planing my Christmas soaps....I knew it was going to be an ugly brown soap, but I took Genny's suggestion of darkening the soap to make lumps of coal! So far so good! These will go to my coworkers at Christmas :)

I didn't at first, but after rebatching most of the mixed scents burned off, so I added a sample size of Dragon's Blood by Candle Science (I know that it tends to darken, and it has a spicy holiday note to it.) I am going to make cute little cards for my coworkers and say this year all they are getting is coal :)

What a cute idea Liz! I bet they'll love it!

When would you add the charcoal? During the cook or as an additive afterwards?
