I ordered the sample pack from Rustic Essentials 20 FO's for $20 and I was careful to only choose those that had info on whether they would accelerate trace or discolor but they were out of one of my choices and so they gave me Love Spell in substitution and there is no info on that one. Does anyone know how it behaves in soap?

I don't know about Love Spell, but their Coconut Lime Verbena causes a fast trace and discolors to a brownish. Did you get a sample of the 1920's Barbershop FO. It's smells so good!!!

I haven't used AH/RE's Love Spell, but I've tried 3 others (Peak's, Candlescience, and Oregon Trails). Peak's and Candlescience both slow down the trace considerably (and took longer to unmold). Oregon Trails didn't slow it down, but it also didn't move too fast. Maybe someone else has tried this brand.

Oh no! I got Coconut Lime Verbena also and their info says it does not accelerate or discolor. No I didn't get the 1920's Barbershop. DARN!!!

I used the Coconut Lime Verbena in a coconut milk soap this morning. Maybe if you soaped with distilled water, it would not discolor or accelerate trace. It is not a bad discolor, kind of a creamy tan.

I always use distilled water and I'm glad you told me now I will be prepared.

Nature's Garden's Coconut Lime Verbena behaves well. No discoloration, no acceleration. Maybe try that one. Their version of Love Spell is good, too.

I've used Peak's & Candlescience's Love Spell. Although I like a LOT of Peak's FO, the LS morphed after a month or so to a plasticy smell, & discolored. Candlescience's LS is what I use now. Very nice scent. I am with you on it slowing down trace a bit. No discoloring.

Also, FWIW, my testers didn't care for the Oregon Trails Love Spell. Personally, I'll just stick with Candlescience for Love Spell.
