Because I'm waiting for an order from WSP, I had to buy some lotion. (I've made one batch of lotion and loved it, but it became obvious that my choice of preservative wouldn't do)

I have two bottle of Nubian Heritage lotion which is chock full of butters, and I really like it. However, I can't get it out of the bottle!

Can I put it warm water to soften, and try to empty into a jar to dip out of?

Can I mix in a little olive oil and try to thin it a bit?

I can't see what the preservative is on the ingredient list, am I missing it?

Nubian Heritage is expensive (but worth it!), I hate to waste it.

I would simply put the bottle in warm water to soften or cut it open and put it in a stearilized jar. I would not add in any ingredients as you will take a chance of upsetting the preservative. I would opt for removing it and putting it in a new clean jar

Thanks cmzaha, I wondered about that. It melted nicely because it's mostly butters. Really, the company should think about changing it to a body butter.
