I want to make my own lotions, creams and butters and I have made a couple basic recipes but I want to step it up and take it further can anyone reccomend some books or websites other than Lotioncrafter that would be an avenue to move my education forward. I really want to learn what all the different ingredients do and how to really put them together. I have also noticed on Etsy that alot of people sell creams and the list of ingredients looks extensive. Do you think they are using a base or putting them together themselves. How do I learn to do that?? Any advice would be helpfull
TIA

while we're on this topic, what would you guys suggest is the best moisturizing, but also the most resistant to being washed off?

OMG, my hands are getting terrible! i even had a dream today (work nights) about my knuckles being all gross and cracked and bleeding.

i've got some stuff, "surgeon's" something or another with a wax base, and while that works pretty well, i don't like to use it, because it doesn't dry. for like 20 minutes after applying i can't do anything.

i'd like something with the consistency of BBW's body lotions.

thanks

does she whip it, or anything?

i'll have to get some to play with.

Thanks, CF

I like a lotion bar made with 1/3 wax- 1/3 oil - 1/3 butters .It seems to stay on pretty good.

I think anything with Shea Butter, Coco Butter or Beeswax will suit your needs... these dont absorb into the skin as much so theyll keep your skins surface nice and moist :)

This blog is the best! I love the way Susan writes, she makes very complicated things easy to understand. At the mo she is doing a series on HLB system & emulsifiers.

Thankyou
Swiftcraftmonkey is awesome that's what I've been looking for.
Thanks again
