Liquid Soap

Hi all!
I will be trying my hand at liquid soap and was wondering if it is necessary to put a preservative. I appreciate any help anyone may have. Thanks.

liquid soap from oils + potassium hydroxide? nope. some put one in anyway, tho.

Thanks for the info. Have you ever made liquid soap Carebear? I'm curious how some people find the process. I tried HPCP for the first time last week and found it surprising easy .

I use .3% of Germall plus in my liquid soaps. I do have a bottle of my first ever shampoo yet and it is still fine.
