Hello everyone!!
I have been searching high and low for a recipe for liquid milk soap. I've found one on snowdrift farms but it is confusing to me because it is made to use water with and gives instructions for milk but I guess I just don't get it. Anyone have a recipe? Or know of a tutorial?
Also, I've been reading all of the different opinions on which preservatives to use. I have been considering trying to make liquid soap for months but everytime I try to decide on a preservative I get a bit frustrated. I've considered using Optiphen but not sure if it can be used in liquid soap. Opinions I've read seem to be all based on using it in lotions.
So...I wonder what others are using? Any advise is welcomed! Thank you~~Kristin

One source states that if preservative is not added, one should refrigerate most of the soap paste and add liquid to the paste when making up a dispenser full of soap. This would would be OK for home use.
How about Liquid Germal Plus as a preservative? The pH of finished formulations should be 6 or below for effective utilization of Optiphen

While goat's milk soap is the most popular type of milk soap that is commonly made at home, coconut milk is worth looking into as well. It's the easiest type of milk soap to make, and if you've experienced what a coconut oil soap feels like, then the milk in a coconut actually has even more moisturizers than the oil. These cannot be found in any other kind of soaps. (deleted link)
