I just got this scent from WSP, particularly since there were a ton of positive reviews. I actually got it for myself because there are no lilacs where I live and I miss them terribly. Well, it smells like a horrible bathroom spray to me. I haven't soaped with it yet, so it might change to something better, but sometimes just that initial smell kind of ruins it for me, even if it changes a little and other people love it in a soap.
Is there anything I might be able to mix it with to help tone down that cheapness element (oh, it just hit me- its like a powderyness, like a really heavy old lady talc)? I don't want to lose the lilac, but just help clean the scent up.

Thanks for the replies! I'll just give it a try and see what happens.

I just sold 250 bars of Lilac in Bloom scented bars to our Economic Development group for a recruitment effort. I think it fades a bit at 4%, but other than that, I love this scent. Try soaping it, before you judge. I've had FOs that stink to high heaven in the bottle, but work great once they are soaped.

Hello! I use "Lilacs in Bloom" and add a small percentage of BB's "Champagne FO" which gives it a surprising 'cool', freshness quality. Very popular - especially this time of the year. You would be surprised by how adding a small percentage of a stimulating EO or FO the main fragrance can be greatly enhanced.

Batty, I must agree with you! I thought it smelled like a Lilac "butt" if lilac bushes had butts. Didn't like it one bit!
