Hello guys...

I've made some salves using herbs infused oil. I've made Green tea infused oil, bay leaf infused oil and papaya leaf infused oil. I use 76 coconut oil and beeswax too.

That papaya leaf infused oil is great to deal with acne, very powerful and I was surprised about it. But honestly, I don't like its smell, I hate it.

I really want to try LEMON/ORANGE peel infused oil. I've been satisfied with the powerful anti acne benefit of that papaya leaf infused oil. But I am still looking for a real brightening product (everyone want to look brighter here). Many people use lemon as a natural skin brightening. And now I'm so curious about lemon/orange peel infused oil.

Can I use lemon/orange infused oil to lighten skin?

I don't know if it will brighten skin but citrus oil can cause sunburn so if you do make this oil don't use it before going outside. Maybe use it at night before bed.

Here is a skin brightening recipe I really like. It makes your skin super smooth too. I add a Tbs of honey when I make it.

Lemon Oatmeal Skin Lightener

Lemon juice contains natural acids that help slough away the top layer of skin, leaving a fresh, lighter layer of skin behind. Combined with yogurt and oatmeal, two other natural bleaching agents, lemon juice gradually fades skin discoloration, refines the pores and increases smoothness. This skin lightening cream is suitable for all skin types except the very sensitive.

  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. ground oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp. plain whole yogurt
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl to form a thick, spreadable paste. Allow the mixture to stand and thicken for 1 minute. Add a bit of water if the paste seems too thick. If it seems too thin, add a bit more ground oatmeal until you reach the correct consistency.Apply the cream directly to the affected area, and leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, or until dry. Rinse clean with cool water, and pat your skin dry. Apply a light moisturizer to prevent dryness, as lemon juice can dry out the skin when used regularly. Repeat once or twice daily, as needed, making a new batch of the cream each time.

I agree that citrus juice will lighten skin, it has vitamin c as the brightening agent.

I don't want to make body cream/salve using juice, it contains water and I don't want to add preservative.
I know that vitamin c is not fat-soluble. This makes me doubt how lemon/orange infused oil can lighten skin because vit c will not dissolved in oil.

But some articles said that it can be a good skin brightener.
