Has anyone ever used this before?

Can I use it in CP soap? What are other uses?

It smells divine!!!!!

First time I hear about this.

Apparently, it's lemon flavored butter. (Cowmilk) butter isn't great to use of soap, because it stinks.

What are the ingredients?

Some butters I've seen are an oil in a solid soy base.

Is that the case with this? Is it lemon oil using soy to make it butter like?

This is the description from the place I bought it from:

Lemon Butter is derived from Lemon Peel oil and Lemon Peel Wax, specifically from the California area, and is obtained by cold pressing of Lemon Peel followed by a full refining process. The natural oil contains Limonene, which is a very effective free radical scavenger. Lemon Peel Oil has a soothing and toning effect on skin and can reduce scar tissue and improve circulatory processes.
Also contained in Lemon Butter is Lemon Peel Wax which contains a high level of Bioflavonoids (polyphenols). Bioflavonoids have anti-cellulite, anti-inflammatory and many other protective benefits for skin. In cosmetic preparations, the clean and refreshing scent of Lemon Butter is very similar to that of a fresh squeezed lemons. Lemon Butter exhibits excellent spreadability on the skin, making it ideal as a massage butter or carrier for treatment products.

It adds moisturizing attributes to creams and lotions and bar soaps. May be used in cosmetics, toiletries, soaps, massage oils & balms, hair care and sun care preparations. Suggested use levels: Use from 3% to 100% pure (as a butter-like balm). Color: Soft yellow. SAP value: 175-200. Shelf life 1 year when properly stored, tightly sealed, away from direct light and heat.

INCI Name = Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil (and) Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Wax (and) Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil.

I want to make a facial soap, and it sounded like this would be a good addition.

Yes, it can be used in soap. your supplier should provide a sap value range. From there, multiply the sap value by the amount in ounces that you want to use, and that is how much lye to use (in ounces).

Oil (in ounces) x SAP value =
Amount of lye needed (in ounces)
(Oil multiplied by SAP Value = Lye Needed)

For example, if I wanted to use 4oz of lemon butter in a recipe,

SAP Value: 175-200
NaOH .132, KOH .186

4oz * .132oz = .528oz lye needed just for that amount of lemon butter to saponify it with 0% superfat (generally)

to calculate the superfat, take that percentage out of the equation.

I.E. 5% superfat = 4oz * .05 = .2 Which would make the new formula for calculating lye with 4oz lemon butter with 5% SF this

3.8oz * .132oz = .5oz lye needed

I'm still fairly new to this but in my head it seems that it would be less expensive to use Lemon EO in your CP soap.

Also by using the Lemon EO you can control the rest of your recipe. I have a friend that is really sensitive to almond oil so I couldn't use a butter blend like the ones at WSP for something I shared with him.
