What oils or other additives contribute to a soap having a thick, dense, shaving cream like lather?

Castor oil?
Shea butter?
sweet almond?
coconut?

I'm not sure which oil makes it lather like that, but I'm guessing it's the coconut oil. Atleast that's what I read in a couple of books. Here's a recipe that I tried out day before yesterday. It's already foaming like crazy 2 days later. I know I'm supposed to let it sit for 2 weeks, but I played around with the left overs.
Here it is :
Old Shaving Soap
38 ounces vegetable shortening
24 ounces coconut oil
24 ounces olive oil
32 ounces rainwater
11.5 ounces lye

--It says the lather is reminiscent of the old shaving soap, mug and brush.

Hope this helps out! :D
