This is likely the last soap I'll make in the house where I made my first soap. It's for the two gals who are buying my home. I've not liked how impersonal this real estate transaction is, so this is my way to rectify it, even though it won't be realized until after closing.

That's very thoughtful of you. It's lovely and I'm sure they will enjoy it. Wishing you health and happiness in your new home!

What a nice gift! We normally leave a moving day grab bag... Tylenol, band aids, coloring book & crayons for kids, a few snacks and some cleaning supplies. My husband thinks I'm silly, but it makes me happy.

They'll love it. What scent did you use?

Snappy, I love the idea of the grab bag. I don't think that's silly at all. I remember the first house I bought. The people had had their children in that house and while the kids were still relatively young and they needed more space, all their family memories were there. The lady was broken up to be leaving it and I remember her tearfully hugging me at closing and asking me to take good care of the house. Thankfully she did not know I'm a slob and thankfully I was married at the time to someone very good at keeping things neat, so the house was kept up very nicely. When my ex moved out of the house, he hid a little package my son had made for the house in the storage space in the attic, tucked away for come future person to possibly find. It's all the little stuff we do that makes things good, like making soap for the new owner or the grab bag or the hidden treasures.

Grapefruit lily.

One reason I made it (other than the obvious jonesing I've endured through keeping my house neat - no soaping allowed) is that I staged soap in both of my bathrooms. They'd have to have been without eyes and nose to miss it. I'm sure the intrigue lured them right into an offer, so why not throw a batch into the deal! No buyers remorse for them!
